Now consider the person (rescued) in
the above example, who did not know either rowing or swimming. But he
learned it there and started acting immediately as a team member. That person
could step back by giving an excuse that, he didn’t know rowing. But the person
was acting differently.
This is called positive attitude and
which is expected from all new team members.
Aligning towards management
directives.
Continuing with the above
example, assume that the boat and all of its passengers survived and out of
danger with their great effort. Few hour later they can see the clear blue sky, and a gentle wave of breeze which make them happy.So happy, that they forgot what was happened few hours back. All of a sudden the person (who has been rescued) ask, when we should start to learn swimming. Everybody laughed at him as if there is no need to hurry. Should we also, laugh? No not at all.
